TAX Question! Active duty military, married filing jointly...?

I went to H&R Block today, despite mixed reviews of the place. According to their calculation, my husband is going to owe the State of California approx. $250! My husband is not in the Military, but I am (E-4), so he pays CA state tax, I pay Maine state tax. We have no children and both claim 1 on our W-2. I have never had to pay in before, always got money back. We don't make a ton of money, so it doesn't make sense that we have to pay in. My state tax had to get filed offsite (because it's Maine), and I am afraid I will have to pay into state, too. The estimated return is only about $1,000 for Federal. They also said that if it weren't for the fact that we are both full time students, we would have had to pay into Federal, too! I guess my question is whether this is normal, to have to pay in when I am in a pretty low tax bracket. I thought you get more money back when you are married!

I am a psychology major who is trying to figure out where my pions are and what I should aim to become in the future. Help! Im sick, but with what?

I have a wheezy cough, and have had it for 3 days. Yesterday, I just had a normal, mucus cough. And today, its a really dry, painful cough, a stuffy nose, and drainage. My mom let me stay home from school and sleep. I slept for about 5 hours and now my throat hurts. Im pretty sure its just drainage to cause that. When I swallow I can feel it in the back, toward my nostrils. Not deep in my throat or anything. When I woke up to go to school, I took some afrin, and some dimetapp cold medicine. So now, my nose is all cleared up, but my voice sounds icky, and I have a wheezy cough. I don't think this is anything too bad. I just hope I don't have to go to the doctor. I am terrified of that place. Mostly just because of throat swabs or whatever thats called. Im really sensitive with gagging and I freaking hate it. Please tell me what you think I should do.

We only had incoming calls on our phone, couldnt afford a mobile so had to walk to the phonebox, our housing benefit took ages to set up and by the time it had and because we had been working here and there we had loads of rent arrears, for some reason the dss kept asking to see my bank statements and were questioning like �20 my dad had paid in to help me out so I had to get him to write them letters telling them, we ate dinners like a boxed cheesy pasta, beans on toast! We got part time jobs but had to give them up as the dss would deduct what you earned from their money, so basically you would be working for your benefit money. It was a horrible time, but we were just in love and so nothing mattered as long as we were together, we just lay about in bed alot! Then we finally got jobs and everything turned out alright - who ever says you're better off not working are liers well it only works for you if you have like 3 children or something! My advice is get a full time job or even 2 part time ones, or go to college and get a part time job.

But based on its principles man was granted free will, meaning that all God can do is put people on earth and hope that they will make the right choices. But God also has no control over what people do or the choices they make. So when things such as terrorist attacks, aults, or even good things such as random acts of kindness happen, it is not because God "made" them happen. It is because people have chosen to perform these acts, good or bad, out of their own free will. With that said, how can it supposedly be legal to sue God for "making" things happen (as was done by a man in Nebraska), or how can people say that God made things happen?

I've been getting professional help for a while now, and I started taking medication for my anxiety, depression, mood swings, and cutting since early this year, and im really trying to stop cutting for good, but lately I just don't know if I can keep it up. I end up cutting just about every other month, and things haven't been so good financially since my parents got divorced, and every time they are both in the same place its chaotic with yelling and yelling just makes me feel so anxious and depressed that I don't know what to do. Im trying to be patient with myself and through my medication changes (both my medications (celexa and seroquel xr) have been recently been doubled, one on my last psychiatrist appointment, and my other one on the appointment before that), but I just don't know if I can keep avoiding cutting when im struggling and I want to cut so badly most of the time.

Weather question i was wanting to build a hurricane storm shelter?

nuclear submarines are used every day and keep or sailors safely summered under water for as much as 6 moths at a time,so i was thinking to make some safe storm shelters on land and at sea,under the ocean during a hurricanes they ,could presumably be under the ocean,or on ones land they have to be built with i call sub standards,not meaning below grade or does it? yes know there and idea below grade !! ok i made like a single wide mobile home that was water tight with like a submarine hatch for an entrance,the ventilation shafts were cold rolled steal of different dimensions pressed into each other like inner and the outer dimensions matching perfectly being pressed into one another un till i made a shaft that could with stand any hurricane storm floating trash colliding in to them,like a car hitting a tree the tree wins every time a car crashes into them right. well this was one of the biggest obstacles to over come in the under ground summered hurricane storm shelter.then as a finished product the ventilation shafts were disguised as palm trees ,preferably untrimmed with the dry ed up looking palm leaves. this is where there was fuel tanks one 1 shaft and on the other of witch there were 2 was a water storage tank for a emergency fire sprinkler system. the sprinkler heads are in the mechanical room where the generator hvac systems are and in the kitchen over the cook top . it is a steal shoe box basically with floor plans like a single wide mobile home,steal stud frame work with sheet rock walls 1/2 inch and ceiling all ceramic or clay tile on the floors twin murphy beds entertainment centers computer desk,and full kitchen and bath,with storage room off the small mechanical room that had plenty of shelves and Freezer for food storage, the sheet rock in the mechanical rooms were 5/8 inch walls and ceiling times 2 doubled up making a 2 hour fire wall also a fire door and emergency smoke evacuation vents.the vents went way down into the ground like a male and female pips fitting into a flag pole these were set in cement .in fact the whole shelter was set in like a cement tomb then back filled with rocks for drainage and to inhibit rust from the water proofing layers on the out side of the shelter,it was like a in law apartment under ground ,good party room after the bars close no one could hear you under ground turn up the music and enjoy,had full security cameras,as to watch the storm as it pes over head.and a emergency response team after the storm in case the entrance ever gets covered from the storms after m.there's more but that is what i wanted to do. think it can be done ,is it possible.what do you think.

Am I too old to have another baby?

I will be 40 on Sept. 4th. I have a 5 1/2 year old daughter, a 4 year old daughter, and a 20 month old son. Former boy soprano seeking advice..?

I was a boy soprano growing up, and even though the bullying was pretty bad it all was worth it when I was able to sing in boychoirs and get all of these solos in school. But now I've reached the age when my voice is starting to change and I'm very afraid that my voice has been progressively deteriorating as it's been changing. I'm now in a tenor range and I crack all the time, my range is shaky, and I just feel uncomfortable when I sing. I'm still told I have a good voice, but it's not great or spectacular or anything that will get me anywhere professional, and I have to use way more effort than when I was a soprano to produce a good note. Will my voice stay like this or will it get stronger over time? This is my talent and where I belong. I don't want to just give up because my voice is worse, but it seems like I don't have much of a choice.

So I would do 2 days Universal 2 Days at Bush Gardens (depending on where you are staying) the shuttle to Bush Gardens cuts into your day as well if you get rained out. 2 days at Disney since you have already been there before.

MARINE VISION HELP!!!?

Hello there, I am 17 years old enlisting into the Marines at the age of 18, I am physically and mentally fit to join. The only drawback is that my uncorrected vision is crappy. I have an astigmatism. I have not done MEPS yet, but plan on it soon. I am 20/15 with my contacts on. Here is the drawback. My prescription is -8.50 diopters which is over the MEPS rules. My recruiter says im fine, because i am 20/20 corrected so i shouldn't worry about it. I want to join infantry as my mos. Will they catch this at MEPS and DQ me, will i be able to get a waiver at all? Can i join infantry too aswell? As you can see i have a lot of questions which need to be answered. Why so much pain?

About midmarch i was having muscle spasms in my lower back--I could hardly walk for about 2 weeks. After muscle relaxers and lots of stretching, my back improved; however, it seemed like every other muscle in my body started hurting. I'm so miserable at night when I try to go to sleep because my neck and shoulders hurt so badly. My thighs, knees, and even the back of one of my knees hurts. I can hardly move to adjust myself in my bed because of the pain. I've also learned I have golfer's elbow in my right elbow. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for the pain relief? Has anyone ever suffered from this? Possible causes and solutions? Please help!!!

emphatically YES they can. 2 weeks ago I had to perform CPR on a neighbour who had collapsed myself and my father are both trained first aiders and we ran to help. Although we knew what to do the 999 operator stayed on the line to talk us through the procedure. They were very calm and professional and their help was invaluable and would be even more so to an untrained person. Learn first aid anyway (Should be mandatory) but rest ured there are people on the other end of the phone who can tell you what to do.

Read all that, and I completely understand your desires, and aspirations.Seeing as this is your second year already, a foreign language (fluently) is totally out of the picture, but something you can always go back to in the future. For the time being...look into fields like Sociology, Political Science, Peace Studies, and International Affairs majors. Stuff like that would introduce you to a broader category of study, along with eventual careers that hold your international traveling interests. Those are just a few ideas I can throw out...but due note I'm not even in college yet. Go to your counselor for more ideas that would follow your interests. I always figured "English" was my strong point, but it does in fact get tedious, and monotonous. So don't give up quite, you've still got two whole years--and I'm positive you're not the only confused student out there. What do you think will happen in the the 7th harry potter book?

I believe that Harry will find all of Voldemort's horcruxes. I also have a theory that Snape didn't really kill Dumbledore, and it is all part of a bigger plot to bring Voldemort to Harry so that Harry can defeat him. Yet, why would they bring Voldemort to Harry and not help Harry? Maybe Snape is bad and Dumbledore is dead because ultimately only Harry can defeat Voldemort, because one cannot live while the other is alive. So the final showdown has to come down to Harry ONLY Vs. Voldemort. I don't want Harry to die because I believe that will be a huge tragedy, yet realism in movies, books, plays, art, and any other form of media is huge today. People don't like to see the cheesy happy endings anymore. People want a realistic outcome because that's what they can relate to. So, Harry just might die, but i have faith that he wont. It sounds like you guys are just getting to the point in your own maturity that you're figuring out what to say to people you like, what's game playing, if that works or not, etc. My best advice if you really like this guy is to stay friends with him for another couple years and not push things. If you guys started dating when you're 16, you could justify compromising your friendship for the sake of a potentially rewarding relationship. At this point, you're right, you should not risk your friendship at this point because you're too young to experience a lasting, rewarding relationship. I would use utorrent instead of Vuze its free to download and its real easy to use. If it says seeding the torrent is already done downloading. Seeding is kinda hard to explain but it basically means people who are downloading the torrent can get peices of it that they need from your torrent that you have already downloaded. Just try right clicking on the torrent file and you should see something that says something like open containing folder, click that and it should be in there.

Well I think in your situation it just seems like the volunteer fireman are a bit egotistical. So I don't think it is fair to judge the firemen in your area and use them as the basis for all volunteer firemen. I myself think what they are doing is brave, and it require a bit of courage. Would you run into a burning building? Many of the volunteers do that, and they help out those who are actually on paid staff. They do this without pay. So I don't know that all firemen who are volunteers are this way, at least I don't believe they are. But the ones in your area, are perhaps individuals that need more training and maybe they are immature.

I wouldn't say just black women. It depends on how they're attitudes are. People can hate any women if she is a complete queen B. The media portrays black women with this big crazy attitudes, which through my experience with black women the majority are like that. And as far as beauty, well beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I know of someone who was given Lortab like candy by her doctors office and other meds for years.They had several providers who did not confer at all. In the end before she got help, at one point she had 3 scripts in hand for a month supply of lortab the 2nd highest dosage..Alot of times it was honestly forgetting they had them or didnt turn them in but ended up realizing it was to get more.Once she even told them not to give more because she knew she had a problem and was addicted but they continued.Do they have a responsibility to check up on these things.This same doctor also worked with her to get gastric byp surgery done when this person had a extensive history with depression, had several related disorders.At the time this person was a good candidate but due to several life changing events the depression leads and it is hard for this person to care for herself the way she needs to.Was this malpractice.This dr even missed the large kidney stone that started the need for pills.

My husband is a registered disabled citizen (blind) and has held his job for 11 years. Due to company downsizing, he was placed back in a job that he was removed from due to his blindness. When he asked his bosses why they placed him back in a job that they knew he could not do due to his visual impairment, they said he would just have to earn his way out of it and into another job.
