Can someone explain the belief in global warming to me?

ive heard a ton and so far most of it makes me think even less of the common person. Give me facts, or at least the closest thing to them. i dont trust wiki enough to look it up there and I wouldnt know where the best GW sight would be due to my computer illiteracy.
