Why are native americans so quick to denounce other native americans?

Well I find this annoying I mean not everyone looks the same. I mean it's weird some native americans wouldn't even consider eva longoria jessica alba or aimee garcia as native american when they are. I mean it's not like we come in one skin tone it's all different. So how come they don't believe in diversity?
