Help! Im sick, but with what?

I have a wheezy cough, and have had it for 3 days. Yesterday, I just had a normal, mucus cough. And today, its a really dry, painful cough, a stuffy nose, and drainage. My mom let me stay home from school and sleep. I slept for about 5 hours and now my throat hurts. Im pretty sure its just drainage to cause that. When I swallow I can feel it in the back, toward my nostrils. Not deep in my throat or anything. When I woke up to go to school, I took some afrin, and some dimetapp cold medicine. So now, my nose is all cleared up, but my voice sounds icky, and I have a wheezy cough. I don't think this is anything too bad. I just hope I don't have to go to the doctor. I am terrified of that place. Mostly just because of throat swabs or whatever thats called. Im really sensitive with gagging and I freaking hate it. Please tell me what you think I should do.
