Capricorn Male+Capricorn Female=do we stand a chance?

His birthday is Dec.31st and mine is Jan.6th. On the negative: i feel stifled and suffocated by his "too serious" about everything attitude. I don't want to lose him so i downplay my normally uninhibited, adventurous nature. He is opinionated and so am I. The difference is he thinks he can preach to me but if i ever so much murmured a word of criticism to him he will respond harshly. He is 'saved' Christian and I am Agnostic. Despite me telling him my desire to stay neutral he still asked me to go to bible study with him this Friday. I'm going. Because I don't want him to think i am narrow minded and against change for the better. He was shot 3 times an served almost 4 years in jail. He is 19 years old. On the positive he has a way of motivating me to reach new heights. He makes me want to take action and better my situation. He's smart and even though he can be a little mean at times I am patient and he comes around when he's ready too. Will it always be this way? Help me please!
