Why did the cavs choose those 2 in the draft?

I am a cavs fan and not upset that LeBron left because anyone else would have done that. Love him as a player but hate him as a person. With the not so great players the Cavs have on their team, why did they select irving and thompson. I am 100% against irving and dont mind thompson but I believe williams was the best choice they could have got. He is a game changer and i believe is going to be better than irving now and years later. I dont believe irving or other point guards in the league that can drasticly turn around a club. the only pg i know that can do that is rose. With the surrounding cast i dont think irving is going to be a huge threat. I think the best choices for the cavs would have been williams and a good scoring guard maybe kemba or other guards. Your thoughts???
